The Mayfield Rocket

It was just an experiment with POV-Ray to create a 3D computer model of the Saturn V rocket as used in the Apollo missions to send men to the Moon.

Following a trip to Florida and seeing the rocket garden at the Kennedy Space Centre, I thought it might be interesting to see what the giant rocket might look like in the grounds of the school where the Sheffield Astronomical Society held its meetings. And eventually it became a film clip. You can watch the result by clicking on the Play button below the image.

Look closely and you will see that the decals on the rocket have been replaced by society logos.
